Dell Acquires Cloudify In Bid To Expand Cloud Orchestration Capabilities

Dell Technologies this week acquired Cloudify in a move that will boost the computer manufacturer’s cloud orchestration capabilities.

Cloudify’s environment-as-a-service technology packages infrastructure, networking and automation tools that businesses and organizations use to manage heterogeneous cloud environments at scale.

The technology helps bridge the gap between DevOps and IT service management (ITSM), providing DevOps teams working in hybrid cloud and cloud-native environments to automate provisioning and update workflows.

Dell, a longtime pillar in data center systems, has been expanding its cloud strategy in recent years, including launching its Apex as-a-service offerings and public cloud integrations last year. The Cloudify acquisition will further that effort.

ServiceNow Partner Thirdera launches CitizenKey Targeting Public Sector

Thirdera, a leading partner of workflow automation giant ServiceNow, showed off its innovation chops this week by launching a new ServiceNow-certified solution targeting government organizations looking to streamline their service management tasks.

The new CitizenKey service is aimed at helping government agencies, from small government entities to the federal government, provide persona-based services for the public. It provides a way for governments to quickly spin up services, improve their efficiency and be innovative.

CitizenKey is based, in part, on Thirdera intellectual property and was co-developed with 3CLogic, a developer of voice-enabled and cloud contact center technologies for customer relationship management and customer service management platforms.

Cognizant Expands Engineering Service, IoT Capabilities With Mobica Acquisition

Returning to the subject of savvy acquisitions, global systems integrator Cognizant Technology Solutions struck a deal this week to buy Mobica, a U.K.-based software services company with more than 700 software engineers across the U.S. and Europe.

Mobica provides what it calls engineering talent-as-a-service, allowing customers to use its software engineers to bring specific skills to their development teams, scale those teams as needed, or take on a full software project.

The acquisition will specifically allow Cognizant to significantly expand the IoT services it offers clients, including IoT embedded software engineering capabilities. The acquisition, expected to close next month, will also help Cognizant grab a bigger piece of the global product engineering market, which is expected to grow to $164 billion by 2026.

MLOps Provider Domino Data Lab Strikes Distribution Deal With TD Synnex

Domino Data Lab, one of the leading companies in the fast-growing data science and machine learning space, unveiled a distribution deal with distributor and solutions aggregator TD Synnex this week under which Domino’s MLOps platform and related software will be available to a wider audience of solution providers.

Machine learning tech can be complex. With Domino’s MLOps software now available through the TD Synnex distribution and aggregation services, the distributor can build complete hardware-software solutions that incorporate Domino’s MLOps software, making it easier for solution providers to sell and implement the platform.

Domino, which operates a partner-first services model, also wins kudos for expanding its own partner program with new training and accreditation resources, part of Domino University, tailored for solution providers and for implementation and consulting service partners.

Arctic Wolf Boosts Cyber Incident Response With New Offering For Partners

Security operations platform provider Arctic Wolf unveiled a new offering this week that will allow partners to more easily supply their customers with rapid cyber incident response services, which one solution provider executive told CRN will be a “game-changer” for the partner’s cybersecurity business.

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Arctic Wolf now provides a retainer option for its cyber incident response services, which partners can provide to their customers, including as part of a managed services package. The Arctic Wolf Incident Response JumpStart Retainer features benefits such as a guarantee that cyber incidents will receive a response within one hour, backed by a service-level agreement.

Other benefits of the JumpStart Retainer include subscription-based pricing that offers lower costs to customers for the incident response service and also doesn’t require customers to pre-purchase service hours. The offering ultimately provides partners with a “conduit” to fast incident response services on behalf of their customers, according to Arctic Wolf.
