A ServiceNow partner recently had one of the business continuity and disaster recovery apps it created for the company’s app store selected to be deployed inside ServiceNow itself – a remarkable turn for a partner that did zero business with the IT service management giant just five years ago.

“We are particularly honored to have ServiceNow implement MaestroRS because ServiceNow provides the platform and ecosystem in which we operate,” Aaron Callaway, managing director, Fairchild Resiliency Systems told CRN. “ServiceNow recognizes the domain expertise in their partner community, specifically what Fairchild can provide to their customers. This validates our expertise on platform and also allows us to further innovate with the ServiceNow team.”

The Andover, Mass.-based company was an MSP focused on integrating BCDR solutions, and had no ServiceNow business back in 2014, however its customers were soon demanding expertise on the platform.

“Fairchild was routinely asked to integrate these stand-alone BCDR applications with ServiceNow to access its data,” Callaway told CRN. “It became very clear, very fast that the combination of ServiceNow and our domain expertise was best positioned as a solution on the NOW Platform.”

The company went from doing zero ServiceNow business five years ago to now, when it has flipped the company to focus entirely on the platform, Callaway said.

“We’ve transformed our business model to focus exclusively on MaestroRS on the NOW Platform,” he said. “Since we launched our ServiceNow partnership our business has grown many times over.”

One of the most appealing features of the ServiceNow Platform, and one of the reasons it’s deployed in 75 percent of Fortune 500 companies: the ability to customize the software to meet business needs via the NOW Platform, ServiceNow’s low-code, no-code app creation portal.

Fairchild designed its app, MaestroRS, to help companies with business continuity and disaster recovery on ServiceNow. MaestroRS became a NowCertified app, and a top-seller, and earlier this month, MaestroRS was selected by ServiceNow for use in-house. ServiceNow confirmed to CRN that it has deployed the MaestroRS app internally.

“It speaks volumes about our solution’s capabilities that ServiceNow would not only select MaestroRS as a partner in its IRM Ecosystem, but implement it internally across the company,” Callaway said.

The MaestroRS app that Fairchild created has been available in the ServiceNow store prior to ServiceNow implementing it. In order to win the NowCertified status, ServiceNow first reviews the product to make sure it is upgradeable with the new releases the company puts out twice a year, and to make sure the technology is there to support customers now and in the future. MaestroRS became a top seller, before ServiceNow decided to put it to use.

“We support some of the largest companies in the world,” Callaway told CRN. “To be able to really help organizations automate their BCDR program in ways that no one else can because we’re on platform, and we’re leveraging their workflows, we’re leveraging their data, we’re helping with collaboration across the enterprise based upon the platform.”

He said ServiceNow leans on its partner community to not only develop solutions that win over users, but also as subject matter experts. For example, Callaway said Fairchild was recently named a ServiceNow IRM Ecosystem Partner.

“They’re looking to their partner ecosystem to provide that full depth and breadth to help support this integrated risk management vision,” Callaway said. “So where we come into play, we provide the strong domain expertise for business continuity and disaster recovery and crisis management. We go to market with them to help support their clients that have this requirement for BCDR. It’s an awesome relationship. We’re able to support their clients, and bring additional subject matter expertise to bear as a unified front.”
