WATCH: Dell’s Cheryl Cook Discusses Newly Rebranded Dell Technologies Partner Program

Dell Technologies has rebranded its partner program following its return to the public market. Dell’s Senior VP of Global Partner Marketing Cheryl Cook discussed the details of the program with CRNtv’s Diana Blass at Dell Technologies World.

The message about partners at Dell Technologies World was clear: They’re not just an asset to the tech giant but a priority.

At the Global Partner Summit, Dell executives said partners added 63,000 new customers in 2018, helping the Round Rock, Texas-based company become a leader in storage, servers and open networking. To continue that momentum, Dell introduced the newly rebranded Dell Technologies Partner Program. Dell’s Cheryl Cook, senior vice president of Global Partner Marketing, discussed the details with CRNtv.

There was a lot of talk about “defying gravity” at the Global Partner Summit. What does that mean for your strategy as you look ahead into 2019 and beyond?

“I think we have such amazing momentum right now in the business. We are enjoying such success. Defying gravity is really how can we continue to defy the odds, defy the skeptics, defy what our competition is doing and continue to just grow. So, the momentum, partnership and quite frankly the solutions are just so incredible.

What can partners expect under the newly rebranded Dell Technologies Partner Program?

“With the new name, all of the requirements of a tier status remained unchanged and all of our strategically aligned businesses continue to have their own partner program. So, for our partners, it should empower them to lean in more effectively across all capabilities of the company and really bring powerful solutions to market. You heard we have some exciting announcements around Dell Technologies Cloud and our Unified Workspace; and, we have a new cloud competency that lets our partners leverage their VMware credentials and their VXRail capabilities to really have the certifications around these exciting new offerings.”

How does the Advantage Framework fit into the new partner program?

“We announced a year ago that we really wanted to unleash and empower the Advantage to our partners across the company. In that year, we’ve taken the company public under Dell Technologies and it really simplified the opportunity of just elevating the program to Dell Technologies Program. Now, we’ve done co-sell badging solution badging, solution badging, solution competencies; and now, we are even launching products to market showing that better together integration between VMware and Dell and how we can really make it simpler for our partners. So, we’ve made a lot of progress up until now and we are going to continue to make more.”
