WATCH: Ingram Micro One Spotlights Huge Cloud Investments

Ingram Micro put the spotlight on its cloud business during its Ingram Micro One conference in Washington, D.C., with Chief Country Officer Kirk Robinson proudly declaring that the company has spent over $500 million investing in the sector in less than 10 years.

“Nobody has put their money where their mouth is more than Ingram Micro,” said Robertson.

“We’ve acquired over the years 6 different companies , so we acquired IP that we integrated together into our CloudBlue platform that all of our partners can leverage,” said Renee Bergeron, Senior VP, Global Cloud, Ingram Micro.

On Monday, Ingram Micro announced its latest cloud initiative: a strategic alliance with CenturyLink that provides a hosted private cloud service to the channel. The new solution is built on enterprise-grade technologies including VMware Cloud Foundation and HPE Gen 10 Proliant highly secure servers featuring the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processors. It empowers channel partners with enhanced cost savings, flexibility, security, and efficiency in the context of private cloud-based

“With our partnership here, Ingram Micro has a whole slew of partners, managed service providers that really understand the sales motion and when we bring that together with our capabilities and our service-first oriented solution it makes a huge difference for the customer,” said Brian Purcell, VP of Sales at CenturyLink.
