AWS Unveils End User Computing Competency For Advanced, Premier Consulting Partners

'End-user access to company data is facing increased security threats and compliance requirements, accompanied by a growing workforce of mobile and contingent workers,' says Renata Melnyk, an AWS senior partner program manager.

Amazon Web Services is introducing a new End User Computing Competency for AWS Partner Network Consulting Partners.

The new EUC Competency is tailored for Advanced and Premier Consulting Partners that can document their ability to support customers that need to provision, protect and glean intelligence from endpoint devices, end-user applications and data on AWS’ cloud computing platform, according to Renata Melnyk, an AWS senior partner program manager.

Employee access to company data faces increased security threats and compliance requirements, while the number of mobile and contingent workers increases, Melnyk said in a blog post announcing the competency.

“As a result, securing end-user access to applications and data in the cloud is driving companies to pursue desktop and application streaming on AWS,” Melnyk said. “When you deploy EUC solutions on AWS, you can maintain security over your data, improve user productivity, simplify IT operations and enable builders to be more innovative.”

The AWS EUC Competency is designed for Consulting Partners that provide solutions to assist customers with strategy, professional services, managing infrastructure, repeatable intellectual property and optimization of end-user computing technologies on AWS. They help customers deploy AWS EUC services on AWS, including Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon AppStream 2.0 and Amazon WorkLink. Their offerings provide a resource brokering mechanism (control plane), visualization/remote display protocol and an application execution environment, with either the control plane and/or application execution environment running on AWS (Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon or other solutions).

AWS is rolling out the competency with 15 Advanced and Premier Consulting Partners that already have secured the designation. They include Leeds, England-based Alscient Limited and Privo, whose headquarters is in Woburn, Mass. Alscient’s EUC solution is designed as a cost-effective, standardized, scalable and secure virtual desktop infrastructure that can be provisioned and accessible in minutes. Privo focuses on consulting, automation and ongoing management of Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon AppStream 2.0 and other AWS EUC technologies.

Other AWS Consulting Partners with the new EUC competency are API Systems, BlazeClan Technologies, CloudHesive, CMD Solutions, Consegna, EagleDream, Innovative Solutions, Nuvens, Olikka, Rebura, RedNight, ServerWorks and SyncroNet.
