Ingram Micro GCIS 2023: The Coolest Exhibitors

Microsoft, AWS, UiPath and CoreStack were among the standout exhibitors at Ingram Micro GCIS 2023.

Cloud giants. Automation vendors. And an upstart multi-cloud governance platform provider.

Microsoft, AWS, UiPath and CoreStack were among the standout exhibitors at Ingram Micro’s Global Cloud & Innovation Summit event held this week in Las Vegas.

Irvine, Calif.-based Ingram Micro itself made waves during the conference with updates on Xvantage, a platform that, during his keynote address, led Ingram CEO Paul Bay to proclaim, “Nobody has done this in this industry.”

Microsoft

Microsoft was on site at GCIS 2023 to promote offerings around Azure, business applications, Surface and connected workplaces.

The Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant’s GCIS appearance came amid a slew of updates for various Microsoft offerings.

The vendor introduced an early access, paid preview program for its Microsoft 365 Copilot generative artificial intelligence (AI) offering for 600 enterprise customers.

Microsoft also announced new AI tools for Cloud for Nonprofit, including the Viva Sales AI Copilot, fundraising goal forecasting and the ability to identify donor donation likelihood.

Recent Azure updates include the general availability (GA) of Azure Center for SAP, Azure Monitor for SAP, new geospatial analysis capabilities in Azure Data Explorer and policy analytics for Azure Firewall.

Recently launched public previews include Azure Container Storage, according to the vendor.

Microsoft has about 400,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Hewlett Packard Enterprise representatives joined GCIS to showcase offerings including HPE Proliant RL300 Gen11 servers.

As GCIS unfolded, the company revealed a new simplified Ezmeral platform aimed at providing more cost predictability and challenging public cloud vendor lock-in.

Spring, Texas-based HPE has about 80,000 channel partners worldwide, about 10,000 of them in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

Amazon Web Services

In the lead-up to GCIS 2023, Amazon Web Services announced a new Aurora configuration with the promise of improved price performance and predictability.

Aurora I/O Optimized is meant for customers with input-output-intensive applications, allowing them to only pay for their database instances and storage consumption, according to the Seattle-based cloud giant.

AWS has 100,000 worldwide channel partners, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

Veritas Technologies

Representatives of Veritas Technologies showcased the vendor’s Alta cloud data management platform for GCIS attendees this week.

As the show unfolded, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Veritas announced updates to its Partner Force program, including enhanced rewards for cloud-based deals, a simplified transaction process and new training and accreditation programs.

Veritas has about 8,000 worldwide channel partners, about 2,000 of them in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

UiPath

Leading up to GCIS, UiPath revealed new features for its enterprise automation platform.

Among the enhancements from New York-based UiPath are connectors for AI offerings from Microsoft, AWS and Google, according to UiPath. The vendor also unveiled an SAP Heatmap for testers and business analysts, a studio web for low-code development and a robot livestreaming feature.

UiPath has about 5,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

AvePoint

AvePoint representatives discussed the data management platform provider’s capabilities around access monitoring, backup and ransomware recovery, provisioning, secure email and more during GCIS 2023.

Just before the conference, Jersey City, N.J.-based AvePoint revealed updates to its Confidence Platform that aim to help organizations modernize digital workplaces, according to the vendor.

The vendor also teased at new capabilities around Microsoft 365 shared channel management, improved guest user access control and more.

AvePoint has 3,500 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

CoreStack

CoreStack, an upstart multi-cloud governance platform provider, made a splash on the expo floor of GCIS 2023.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based vendor – founded in 2016 by CEO Ez Natarajan – recently disclosed partnerships with Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Logicalis. TCS and Logicalis are members of CRN’s 2022 Solution Provider 500.

In February, CoreStack introduced Cloud Resource 360 (CR360), a single system of engagement assigned to every cloud resource managed by the CoreStack NextGen Cloud Governance platform.

The offering promises to give users greater visibility of cloud infrastructure and unused resources while providing continuous compliance and security posture enablement, according to the vendor.

Lexmark

Imaging and internet of things (IoT) vendor Lexmark was among the exhibitors at GCIS 2023 this week.

Lexington, Ky.-based Lexmark recently introduced two new color print services that use VariTherm to provide narrow media printing with the goal of enhanced print performance and versatility, according to the vendor.

The Lexmark CS737dze printer and CX737adzse color multifunction product (MFP) offer standard and off-standard page sizes for greeting cards, pill pack labels, hazardous materials labeling and narrow printing uses, according to the vendor.

The vendor also made available nine new A4 color and black and white printers and MFPs designed for mid- to large-size organizations with monthly print volumes of up to 10,000 color or 20,000 mono pages.

Skyhigh Security

Skyhigh Security, the security service edge (SSE) vendor born from the split of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye, had a presence at GCIS 2023.

The San Jose, Calif.-based vendor recently made improvements to its portfolio including enhanced exact data match (EDM), a unified data protection of Microsoft 365 on the cloud with web to come plus more remote browser isolation (RBI) capabilities, according to Skyhigh.

About 90 percent of Skyhigh’s overall sales come through the channel, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.

Cisco

Cisco’s Umbrella cloud-delivered security offering was among the standout demonstrations during GCIS 2023.

In the lead-up to GCIS, the San Jose, Calif.-based networking giant announced a new OpenTelemetry-based integration of Cisco AppDynamics application observability and ThousandEyes network intelligence so partners and end customers can determine if a performance problem is stemming from the network or application faster and using less tools.

Cisco has about 28,000 worldwide channel partners, about 15,000 of them in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
