Oracle Alliances Chief Camillo Speroni Announces His Exit

Speroni oversaw Oracle’s channel operations for the last six years, including a recent overhaul of the PartnerNetwork program, as vice president for worldwide strategic alliances.

Camillo Speroni, who oversaw Oracle’s channel organization and tech alliances for the last six years, said Monday he’s leaving the company.

“In this new normal where change represents, drives and inspires a daily challenge to the ‘status quo’, I have made the most difficult decision of my professional career. I have decided to leave #oracle,” Speroni wrote on LinkedIn.

Speroni was approaching his six-year anniversary with the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based tech giant, a tenure as vice president for worldwide strategic alliances he characterized as “the honor of my career.”

Before coming to Oracle in December of 2014, Speroni worked for eight years at Novell, and then three in channel leadership positions at CA Technologies.

Under his charge, Oracle implemented a massive revamp of its PartnerNetwork channel program that went into effect at the end of last year.

Speroni told CRN last September at the OpenWorld Partner Summit that “everything about Oracle PartnerNetwork is all gone.”

A new program was rolled out a couple months later, introducing a cloud-first approach to channel engagement that eschewed the industry’s traditional tiered structure.

“We identified we needed to provide a simplified, streamlined, consistent framework that would allow partners to pick what they’re good at, and accelerate from there,” Speroni said.

Oracle’s channel chief reports to Speroni. That position has been held by Oracle veteran Dale Weideling since Bill Swales left in January of 2019, but it’s not clear if Weideling is a permanent choice.

Speroni said on LinkedIn he’ll soon announce what he does next.

Oracle declined to comment on his exit.
