Here Are Salesforce’s Most Highly Compensated Executives For 2022
Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff made 150 times that of the median Salesforce employee.
Salesforce CEO, co-founder and Chairman Marc Benioff came in at just under $30 million for his total compensation for the 2023 fiscal year, according to documents filed by the vendor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
That compensation was 150 times that of the median Salesforce employee – who made $199,130 – according to the San Francisco-based enterprise applications vendor. Salesforce’s 2023 fiscal year ended Jan. 31.
And despite leaving the vendor in January, former co-CEO Bret Taylor saw a whopping $26.8 million in total compensation for the fiscal year – 135 times the median employee.

6. Parker Harris
Salesforce co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Harris received total compensation of $15.7 million for the 2023 fiscal year, according to the vendor. That’s 12 percent more than his total compensation the year prior.
Harris, 56, received $1 million in base salary for the 2023 fiscal year, according to the company. That’s the same base pay he’s received since at least the 2020 fiscal year.
Harris received a bonus payment of $700,000, 70 percent of the bonus opportunity.
He received about $7 million in stock awards and about $7 million in option awards for the year.
Before co-founding Salesforce with Marc Benioff, Dave Moellenhoff and Frank Dominguez in 1999, Harris co-founded Left Coast Software in 1996.
5. Amy Weaver
Amy Weaver, Salesforce president and chief financial officer, received about $15.7 million in total compensation for the 2023 fiscal year, according to the vendor. That’s 12 percent more than her total compensation the year prior.
Weaver’s base salary was $1 million, the same as last year. She received $7 million in stock awards and $7 million in option awards for the 2023 fiscal year.
She received a $700,000 bonus payment for the fiscal year, 70 percent of the total opportunity.
She also received $7,000 in “other compensation.” This included about $2,000 in security benefits and $5,000 in 401(k) matching.
Weaver previously worked at chemical distributor Univar Solutions for more than two years, leaving in 2013 with the title of executive vice president and general counsel.
4. Srini Tallapragada
Srini Tallapragada, Salesforce’s president and chief engineering officer, received $15.7 million in total compensation for the 2023 fiscal year, according to the vendor. That’s 12 percent more than his total compensation the year prior.
His compensation included a $1 million base salary for the 2023 fiscal year, according to Salesforce. That was the same base pay as the prior year.
Tallapragada received a bonus payment of $700,000, 70 percent of the bonus opportunity.
He received $7 million in stock awards and $7 million in option awards. He received $5,000 in 401(k) plan matching.
Tallapragada assumed his current role in 2019. He’s been with Salesforce for more than 10 years. His resume also includes more than 13 years on and off with Oracle.
3. Brian Millham
Brian Millham, Salesforce president and chief operating officer, received total compensation of $16.6 million for the 2023 fiscal year, more than Salesforce’s chief financial officer, chief engineering officer and the chief technology officer and co-founder.
Boosting Millham’s compensation was a retention bonus in September of $2.5 million.
This was the first of four equal annual installments given to Millham because, according to the Salesforce documents, in 2021 Millham “received an exceptionally strong offer for a high-profile leadership position at a high growth company” and received a retention package that includes his $900,000 base pay, annual bonus opportunity and annual equity grants valued for at least $12 million a year.
Part of Milham’s compensation included $900,000 in base pay. Millham received $630,000 as a bonus payment for the year.
As with the other highest compensated executives minus Taylor, Millham received 70 percent of the potential bonus opportunity “to better reflect our stock price performance in fiscal 2023 and further align pay with stockholder return,” according to Salesforce.
His compensation included about $6 million in stock awards and $6.6 million in option awards.
He also received about $37,000 in “other compensation.” Included in this amount is:
*$13,771 paid by Salesforce for attending motivational company sales team and leadership events
*$1,322 in security benefits
*$16,747 for a tax gross up
*$5,000 in 401(k) plan matching
Salesforce promoted Millham in August to his current role, although his promotion did not come with a compensation increase.
Millham previously served as customer success officer and chief operating officer for global distribution. He also leads the global partners and alliances group.
He’s worked at Salesforce for more than 20 years. Millham was employee No. 13 at Salesforce, joining in 1999.
2. Bret Taylor
Bret Taylor left Salesforce on Jan. 31, but the former co-CEO and vice chairman was among the highest compensated executives at the vendor for fiscal year 2023.
Taylor’s total compensation for the 2023 fiscal year was $26.8 million, up 18 percent year over year.
His base salary for the 2023 fiscal year was $1.4 million, up about 30 percent year over year.
Taylor received $500 as part of a patent bonus, according to Salesforce. He received $14.8 million in stock awards and $9.8 million in option awards.
Taylor received $700,000 in bonus pay for the fiscal year. This was 25 percent of his 2023 fiscal year target performance cash bonus award, which he received in September. He forfeited the rest as part of his Salesforce departure.
His “other compensation” of $92,000 included $87,000 in security benefits, including “a security driver and a rental car used by Mr. Taylor for commuting purposes,” according to Salesforce. He also received $5,000 in 401(k) plan matching.
Taylor joined Salesforce in 2016 with the $750 million acquisition of Quip. He previously worked at Facebook for about three years, leaving in 2012 with the title of chief technology officer.
1. Marc Benioff
Salesforce CEO, co-founder and Chairman Marc Benioff received total compensation of $29.9 million in fiscal 2023. That’s up about 4 percent year over year from the previous year.
His total compensation was 150 times that of the median Salesforce employee, who made $190,133.
Benioff, 58, received a base salary of $1.55 million in fiscal year 2023, the same salary he’s received since at least fiscal year 2020, according to Salesforce.
He received $3,750 in patent bonuses during the fiscal year. Benioff received $14.8 million in stock awards and $9.8 million in option awards during the fiscal year.
Benioff received a fiscal 2023 bonus payment of $2.17 million, 70 percent of the total opportunity, which was two times his salary.
His “other compensation” of $1.5 million mostly comprised “security arrangements provided while at work or on business travel.” He also received $5,000 in 401(k) plan matching.
Benioff founded Salesforce in 1999 after working more than 13 years at Oracle.
