Power Play: Technology Integration – Meeting Your Needs Before Problems Arise

Discover how three different solution providers successfully go all-in with Eaton as the main vendor on their line card.

Partners might be wary about going all-in with one vendor on their line card. Yet, solution providers High Point Networks, Forward Tech Solutions and Leverage Information Systems found their success by looking for four main things in their technology partner.

Innovation, investment, product maturity and ease-of-integration are why High Point Networks turns to Eaton. And, it’s not alone.

“Eaton is a leader in technology integration,” says Thomas Boyken, founder and CEO of Forward Tech Solutions. “They’re willing to partner with other companies that have been focusing on that for years. You really get a better product when that happens.”

A better product that resonated with its partners.

“Any time a partner or a manufacturer takes it upon themselves to deepen capabilities in an area that maybe wasn’t even expected of them, it shows innovation, investment and I think it shows maturity of product,” says Elmar Cannon, account manager at High Point Networks.

Container technology is one example of Eaton’s technology integration prowess. More than 80% of companies who’ve adopted container tech run either Docker or Kubernetes, according to Statista. Eaton seamlessly communicates with both using its Intelligent Power Manager integration (IPM). “If resellers and partners are in the data center, that’s just a very smooth transition to show that integration of IPM,” says Benjamin Lewis, senior account manager with Leverage Information Systems. “Containers, from a security perspective, allow a lateral connection between building and power and power protection. That’s a big differentiator.”

Eaton’s IPM integration helps Leverage Information Systems meet customers’ unique needs, as they transition to cloud and hybrid infrastructures. An added bonus to partners is driving recurring revenue by selling a new service to their customers. “It’s a very competitive space, and anything [partners] can do to set themselves apart and add more features and value, that’s where Eaton comes in,” says David Windsor, senior product planning manager at Eaton.

Eaton’s partnership with Docker and Kubernetes represents just a sampling of alliance partners solution providers can leverage. These strategic alliances with the likes of Cisco, Dell EMC and HPE help partners provide solutions customers need now and in the future.
