Wipro To Acquire Interoperability Software Firm TechneGroup For $45M

Wipro, the $8.5 billion India-based solution provider powerhouse, has signed a definitive agreement to buy interoperability software specialist International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI) for $45 million.
Wipro, which was named a ‘visionary’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for IT Services For CSPs, plans to integrate ITI’s Computer Aided Design and Product Lifecycle Management interoperability software services into Wipro’s Industrial & Engineering Services business.

The acquisition is expected to close within the next few months, according to Wipro.
Founded in 1983, Milford, Ohio-based ITI provides software products and services through its enterprise solutions for data interoperability and data migration. The company specializes in helping manufacturers drive innovation and time to market by applying computer-aided product development to engineering problems.
“Our customers and employees will benefit from the synergies of ITI and Wipro’s combined portfolio of offerings,” said ITI CEO Tom Gregory in a statement. “Clients will gain access to Wipro’s global services and ITI’s innovative solutions to accelerate the adoption of digital manufacturing initiatives.”
ITI has round 130 employees with offices in the U.K., Italy, Israel and Germany, providing software and services to some of the world’s leading manufactures in aerospace, automotive and healthcare.
