U.S. cable giant Comcast has completed its acquisition of Blueface, a Dublin-based unified communications as a service (UCaaS) provider for an undisclosed sum, the companies announced on Monday.

Blueface's proprietary and customizable cloud UC platform will be added to the Comcast Business portfolio of solutions, Philadelphia-based Comcast said.

Blueface in 2018 merged with U.S.-based UC competitor Star2Star Communications in a $500 million deal to better address the large enterprise market. The two companies formed StarBlue, under which Blueface continued to operate its brand of solutions independently. The Blueface brand will continue to operate under Comcast led by Alan Foy, who became CEO of BlueStar two years ago following the company's tie-up with Star2Star, the companies said.

The two companies said that together, they plan to create compelling UC solutions for business customers of all sizes.

“The addition of Blueface’s UC solution to the Comcast Business portfolio will provide customers access to industry-leading audio and video tools to connect employees across devices and locations,” said Bill Stemper, president of Comcast Business, in a statement. “Whether connecting within a company or directly to customers, Blueface technology, powered by Comcast Business, will provide businesses a seamless communications experience."

Comcast in 2019 closed on its acquisition of Latham, N.Y.-based managed Wi-Fi solution provider Deep Blue Communications for its advanced networking solutions, which also joined the Comcast Business portfolio.
