WATCH: Recorded Future Exec On New Channel-Friendly Security Software That Works In Any Web-Based Application

Central Intelligence Agency-backed Recorded Future has unveiled new software that makes it easier for the “good guys” to reduce risk. It’s called Recorded Future Express.

“This is one of the things that the good guys can use to shrink the time down a little bit to be able to take informed action,’ said Stu Solomon, Recorded Future’s chief strategy officer.

Somerville, Mass-based Recorded Future specializes in threat intelligence powered by machine learning. With the new Express platform, users can now deploy its technology within any web-based application through a plug and play browser extension.

“Using any web-based browser environment, you can actually correlate technical indicators that you see on your screen with our intelligence to be able to make decisions in real time” said Solomon.

The software layers threat intelligence over existing security workflows and delivers real-time risk scores, as well as the evidence behind those scores. Solomon says the platform doesn’t require advanced training, making it a great fit for the channel.

“This allows for someone who doesn’t necessarily have a strong background in threat intelligence to be able to describe, understand and deliver, with virtually no scoping and effort, a threat intelligence capability that can plug into anybody’s workflow,” said Solomon.

Recorded Future has raised more than $57 million in funding from firms including Insight Venture Partners and In-Q-Tel, the CIA’s venture capital arm, according to Crunchbase.
