NetApp Shares How Partners Can Drive AI Into the Auto Industry

NetApp and Nvidia unveil new solutions around artificial intelligence at Insight 2019.

Artificial intelligence is playing a big role in the next wave of innovation in the automotive industry, and NetApp is urging its partners to start building out solutions.

“If you look at the changes that are happening around the manufacturing environment, the move to more AI and experience-driven spaces, those partners who are aligned with us in that vertical and are using our industry specialists that we have team to get through are really seeing that accelerated time to market,” said channel chief Chris Lamborn, the head of WW Partner GTM and Programs at NetApp.

NetApp put a big focus on AI during its partner and customer conference, Insight 2019, where executives unveiled new offerings with Nvidia, like the ONTAP AI-Ready Data Center. It’s designed to help organizations straddle their AI applications between the cloud and on-premises environments.

CRN discussed NetApp’s partnership with Nvidia’s Charlie Boyle, senior director of DGX systems.

“We’ve been working with NetApp for a couple of years on a joint solution with ONTAP AI, Nvidia’s accelerated computing plus NetApp’s data storage and services to make it really easy for partners to quickly adopt AI across enterprises,” said Boyle.

Boyle adds that the successes of NetApp and Nvidia’s AI solutions can be seen in cost reductions and accelerated application deployments for the end-user. Watch more of Boyle and Lamborn’s interview in CRN’s video.
