John Moses has been named the new leader of Cisco's Americas Partner Organization (APO), the tech giant told CRN exclusively.

Moses, a longtime Cisco executive and channel veteran, is taking the reins from Rick Snyder, senior vice president of Americas partner sales at Cisco, who announced his retirement in March.

“We’re thrilled to have named John the leader of Cisco’s Americas Partner Organization," Jeff Sharritts, Cisco’s senior vice president of the Americas Organization, said in an email to CRN. "[Moses] has proven success in leading innovative and high-performing teams, establishing a culture of giving back, developing people, and most importantly, prioritizing and strengthening the incredible relationships we have with our partners."

Prior to his latest promotion, Moses served as Cisco's U.S. vice president of sales within the partner organization for two years.

Sharritts called Moses "a seasoned Cisco veteran" who understands the value that partners bring to Cisco's business and customer's businesses. Moses will now report directly to Sharritts and will stay based in Missouri.

Before his time leading sales, Moses led a team of more than 500 employees for nearly four years in his capacity as area vice president for Cisco's US Commercial Central Area. Moses and his team were responsible for more than $2.3 billion in Cisco product and service revenue through a channel sales model. Prior to that role, he served as a senior operations director and joined Cisco in 2005 as a regional director of more than 50 sales, engineering, channels and specialists for Missouri and Southern Illinois.

Moses came to Cisco from Interactive Intelligence Inc., a telecommunications software and cloud computing development company that was acquired by Genesys in 2016. Moses brought with him cloud expertise, a big part of Cisco's strategy today.
